Dr. Vasilis Kourbetis is a surgeon Urologist, originally from Megalopolis, Arkadia. He was enrolled at the Medical School of Patras, where he graduated in 2007. He specialised in Urology at the University General Hospital of Patras, where he obtained his specialty title after examinations in 2016.
He then completed a Fellowship in Endourology at the Urology Clinic of the Sourasky Medical Center in Tel-Aviv, Israel under the supervision of Professor Mario Sofer, where he received a certification of clinical competence in endourology from the World Endourological Society.
After returning to Greece, he worked as a consultant in the Urology Clinic of the University Hospital of Patras, where he performed numerous procedures in the whole spectrum of Urology, with emphasis on Endourology.
The doctor has participated as chairman and speaker in Greek and international conferences and in the publication of scientific articles in the most prestigious foreign language journals. In 2018 during his postgraduate training, he was awarded for his paper "Toward Respiratory-Gated Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery: a Prospective Controlled Randomized Study" which received third place worldwide in the clinical part of the annual essay contest of Endourological Society, and published in the Journal of Endourology. He is a member of the Hellenic Urological Society, the European Association of Urology (EAU) and the European Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM) as well as the World Endourological Society.
